01

Spring startup

We turn on the irrigation water supply, activate every zone and assess the controller, coverage and operating condition before the season.

Controller electrical functions, valves, sprinklers, drip zones and coverage are checked in operating conditions. Minor repairs can be completed as needed so the system is ready when the landscape requires water.

When inside access is required to turn on the irrigation water supply, your service technician will coordinate access directly with you.

  • Water supply activation
  • Controller and zone testing
  • Coverage and operating assessment
  • Minor repairs as required
02

Seasonal monitoring

We program and manage watering throughout the season, accounting for weather, exposure, plant material, soil conditions and the characteristics of each zone.

Programming is adjusted for current and forecast weather, storms or power interruptions, fertilization, new planting and annuals, equipment condition and communication with landscape teams.

Each zone is considered using plant-water requirements, sprinkler and nozzle precipitation rates, soil infiltration and design efficiency. This supports healthy landscapes while reducing avoidable overwatering, runoff, erosion, nutrient leaching, pests and disease.

  • Site-specific controller programming
  • Weather and landscape adjustments
  • Water-conscious scheduling
  • Minor maintenance during the season

Winterization

We shut down the water supply and progressively clear the system with high-volume, low-pressure compressed air.

Our 185 cfm equipment provides the air volume required to prepare piping, valves and sprinkler heads carefully for Whistler’s freezing winter conditions.

The work is completed progressively to protect system components while removing water throughout the property.

  • 185 cfm high-volume equipment
  • Low-pressure progressive clearing
  • Preparation for freezing conditions

Service & repairs

Experienced technicians arrive with stocked vehicles, the appropriate parts and detailed property records for efficient diagnosis and repair.

Our service technicians have an average tenure of approximately 20 years with Whistler Irrigation. They receive professional, manufacturer and in-house training and work from vehicles stocked for the systems we maintain.

Whenever possible, we assign a technician who already knows the system. Digital as-built sketches, controller information and service history help the technician diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently.

  • Stocked service vehicles
  • Digital as-built and service records
  • Efficient diagnosis and correct parts

Baskets & planter irrigation

Several thousand baskets and pots are currently supported through our seasonal management programs.

The objective is consistent watering with discreet tubing and equipment that do not detract from the planting display.

Backflow testing & repair

Five Certified Active Testers, supported by four sets of approved, currently calibrated testing equipment, can test, repair or replace backflow assemblies.

Potable-water suppliers use backflow-prevention requirements to help protect drinking water from connected systems such as irrigation, heating, hot tubs, pools and fire sprinklers.

Where annual testing and reporting are required, we test the assembly, complete repairs or replacement when necessary and file the required documentation with the applicable authority.

  • Four calibrated equipment sets
  • Testing, repair and replacement
  • Required reporting and records
